Dinsdagavond even voor middernacht rook een buurtbewoner tijdens het uitlaten van zijn hond een brand lucht. Hoewel hij eerst dacht dat het om weer een auto in de wijk ging bleek het een ondergrondse container te zijn waar zwarte rook uit kwam.
De wandelaar heeft 112 gebeld en de brandweer van Sneek werd opgeroepen.
Na het openen van de container kon de brandweer er 1000 liter water in spuiten, hierdoor was de brand snel uit.
Na een korte inzet en een bedankje aan de buurtbewoner kon de brandweer weer terug naar de kazerne.
