SNEEK – Een kind is woensdagochtend ernstig gewond geraakt na een ongeval met een trein op de overweg Bolswarderweg / Parkstraat.
Rond twintig over tien kregen de hulpdiensten een melding dat er een voetganger geraakt was door een trein nabij het station. Het bleek te gaan om een kind wat door de trein was geraakt en vervolgen in het water was belandt. Omstanders konden het kind al snel uit het water halen.
Politie en twee ambulances gingen met spoed ter plaatse om hulp te verlenen aan het slachtoffer wat dichtbij de waterkant lag. Het slachtoffer is met spoed per ambulance naar het ziekenhuis gebracht. Onderweg vond een rendez-vous plaats met de traumaheli.
De politie is ter plaatse een onderzoek gestart naar de toedracht van het ongeval. De omgeving van de spoorwegovergang werd vanwege de hulpverlening en het onderzoek afgesloten. Het treinverkeer van en naar Sneek was door de aanrijding enige tijd gestremd.
