Tijdens graafwerkzaamheden met een graafmachine is een gasleiding doormidden gebroken. Hierdoor is een flink gaslek ontstaan waarop de hulpdiensten zijn gealarmeerd.
De brandweer van Sneek en de politie waren snel ter plaatse. Samen sloten ze de straat af voor verkeer en toeschouwers. De brandweer heeft bij omliggende woningen aangebeld en gewaarschuwd om ramen en deuren gesloten te houden.
Liander heeft, voor tijdelijk, zand over de gebroken leiding gegooid. In afwachting van een specialist zal de leiding onder toezicht verder lekken. Monteurs komen ter plaatse om het lek te dichten.
